Shop theft

Issued 09 November 2026

Shop theft continues to be an issue in Towns across the UK. There continues to be shop theft in the Ashby area.

We will seek to gain Criminal Behaviour Orders against repeat offenders, banning them from targeted shops.
We will work with Criminal Justice partners to gain convictions against repeat offenders.

The NPT will also work with partners to disrupt identified repeat offenders.

Ashby have recently relaunched the Shop Watch scheme and will prioritise getting all retail businesses in the Ashby area signed up to the scheme

Belmont Street Anti-social behaviour

Issued 06 August 2026

There have been a number of reports of ASB in the Belmont Street area of Ashby. As a team we have raised a multi-agency plan to tackle this issue and a number of the young people have been interviewed for a range of criminal offences.

Safer neighbourhoods have installed a CCTV camera in the area to act as a deterrent and also for evidence gathering purposes.
A number of ASB referrals have been made and visits conducted to the young people and their parents/carers to discuss their behaviours and the impact on the community.

NPT will continue regular patrols of the area and will continue to work with a multi agency approach where necessary.
