Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

ASB and Criminal Damage around the FREEDOM CENTRE PRESTON ROAD.

Issued 01 June 2026

Over recent months we have seen an increase in behaviour in and around this area by a repeat group of children and young people. This behaviour has a direct impact on the staff who work within the Freedom Centre and also those that use the services each day. These services include support for vulnerable people as well as groups such as parent and toddler classes.

We believe that everyone has the right to enjoy such public spaces without a fear of intimidation.

As such we have worked with partners to identify those involved progressing not only police action but also taking action through partner agencies against those responsible for the individuals such as parents and carers.

We continue to work towards this goal and encourage the community to continue reporting incidents.

Vehicle Related ASB

Issued 01 June 2026

We continue to receive reports numerous times a week regarding off road motorcycles riding dangerously on/off road. These individuals often decide not to wear helmets increasing the risk to themselves and others. This is an issue that directly impacts our communities and causes understandable concern.

In reality this is not a quick problem to fix. Every encounter with riders driving in such a dangerous style must be risk assessed, it is not as simple as some may believe of just chasing these individuals until we either catch them or they crash. That is not the way that we as a Police Force operate as it puts undue risk on members of the public. We do however use all available avenues to identify rider of such bikes using CCTV, Dashcam footage, and other options to prosecute and progress.

We will continue to work alongside our dedicated OP YELLOWFIN team to tackle this behaviour. As a Neighbourhood Team our ask would be to continue to report these incidents to us. Whilst we do appreciate people may think this doesnt result in action every bit of intelligence we receive allows us to build a bigger overall picture. When reporting these issues please try to note any distinguishing marks on vehicles such as a particular colour of trim etc as this again allows local officers to spot these vehicles whilst out and associate them with the ASB.

Drug Dealing / Taking

Issued 01 June 2026

As a force we take drug offences seriously as we know that drug addiction ruins lives and feeds into other types of criminality. By tackling drugs at the source we can reduce the overall impact on the community and reduce the demand on your local Police, freeing officers up to deal with the issues you want us to tackle such as burglaries, anti-social behaviour, and violence.

Your local NPT depends on information and intelligence from you, the public, to be able to identify persons, vehicles and addresses where drugs are being used, grown and sold.

Sometimes when information is given to the Police regarding drug issues it can feel like nothing gets done and like the Police don't care but that couldn't be further from the truth. We rely on information from multiple different sources to be able to develop the intelligence picture which we can then present to a Magistrate to obtain a search warrant. All of the information you give to us is anonymous and helps us build that picture towards obtaining that warrant.

If you see your local officer on the beat and you have any information relating to drugs, please stop and say hello if you feel confident to do so. If not, you can report to us via the Humberside Police Website, via 101, or through Crimestoppers which is all anonymous.
