Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Road Safety and Casualty Reduction issues continue to be a consistent priority within the Howdenshire area.

Issued 29 July 2026

Road Safety and Casualty Reduction issues continue to be a consistent priority within the Howdenshire area. This is including but not exclusive to speeding, contravention of weight restrictions and illegal use of electric motorcycles and electric scooters.

Community Speed Watch and the NPT are working in partnership to deal with speeding and improve road safety.

All Neighbourhood Officers have had training or refresher training for the Pro Laser Speed Enforcement and regular targeted school patrols within the Ward area are completed by PCSOs.

Areas of concern have been raised by communities, of which Neighbourhood Beat Officers are and will be attending to carry out speed enforcement as and when demand allows.

Electric Motorcycles and Electric Scooters

Issued 29 July 2026

Illegal use of electric motorcycles and electric scooters continues to be an issue raised within communities.

These bikes are causing a danger to road users and pedestrians in the areas of concern raised. Our main areas of concern at the moment are Rawcliffe, Snaith, and Airmyn.

We have had recent success in Rawcliffe in recovering two electric motorcycles by working in partnership with the Rural Task Force Drone.

Action will continue to take place in these areas and any other areas reporting issues with electric motorcycles.

Please continue to report and individuals or locations where these vehicles are stored to us online at www.humberside.police.uk or via 101.
