Crime Alert - Criminal Damage

Dear Resident,

Humberside Police are investigating a report of Criminal Damage to the Hornsea Viaduct.

The incident occurred between the evening of Sunday 21st June into the morning of Monday 22nd June. The offender(s) approached the Hornsea Viaduct where they have used pink and black paint to deface the new display boards which show historic pictures of Hornsea, they have also used a sharp implement to scratch along the length of the boards causing damage to them.

If you have any CCTV footage (including video doorbell), saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref: #26000086310.

If you have been a victim of criminal damage, please follow the below prevention advice -

Contact the Police as soon as possible on 101, or on 999 if the incident is on-going.

Consider reviewing the general security of your property, including CCTV and lighting.

Increase the surveillance around the front of your property by restricting any boundary wall/fence to a maximum of 1m in height.

Consider defensive planting by planting spiky plants or bushes.

Keep the area around your property free from rubbish and debris as best you can.

Secure any items on your property such as wheelie bins, that could be used to cause damage.
