Crime Alert - Criminal Damage - Arson

Dear Resident,

Humberside Police are investigating reports of Criminal Damage/Arson from Kingston Woods.

The incidents occurred on Friday (06/03/2026) and Saturday (07/03/2026) between 7-8pm. The offender(s) have stolen wheelie bins from nearby properties and then wheeled them into the woods where they have then set the bins alight.

If you have any CCTV footage (including video doorbell), saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offenders please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref: 26*31304.

Alternatively you could call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. You don’t have to leave your name and you may even receive a reward.

Where possible, please try and secure your wheelie bins to your property or secure them out of sight in a rear garden to prevent them being stolen. Police patrols will increase in the area of Kingston Gardens and wooded area

If you have been a victim of criminal damage, please follow the below prevention advice -

Contact the Police as soon as possible on 101, or on 999 if the incident is on-going.

Consider reviewing the general security of your property, including CCTV and lighting.

Increase the surveillance around the front of your property by restricting any boundary wall/fence to a maximum of 1m in height.

Consider defensive planting by planting spiky plants or bushes.

Keep the area around your property free from rubbish and debris as best you can.

Secure any items on your property such as wheelie bins, that could be used to cause damage.
