EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE
Rural Crime update - Following the arrest of four men after reports of hare coursing and driving offences in progress at Kilpin, near Gilberdyke, East Riding of Yorkshire and again in the afternoon at Susworth, near Burringham, North Lincolnshire on Sunday, 21 September. An investigation by Rural Task Force was launched.
Following this investigation by the Rural Task Force the following four males have answered bail and been charged as follows -
A 27-year-old male been charged with Hunting a Wild Mammal with Dogs contrary to Section 1 of the Hunting Act 2004, Trespass with intent to search for or to pursue hares with dogs contrary to Section 63 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022. Being Equipped for searching for or pursuing hares with dogs contrary to Section 64 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022. This male has also been charged with Dangerous Driving contrary to Section 2 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, Driving Whilst Disqualified – Section 103 Road Traffic Act 1988, Driving Without Insurance – Section 143 Road Traffic Act 1988, Fail to Stop a Mechanically Propelled Vehicle when required by a constable, Prohibition of driving mechanically propelled vehicles on land not part of a road without lawful authority – contrary to Section 34 Road Traffic Act 1988.
A 23-year-old male been charged with Hunting a Wild Mammal with Dogs contrary to Section 1 of the Hunting Act 2004, Trespass with intent to search for or to pursue hares with dogs contrary to Section 63 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022. Being Equipped for searching for or pursuing hares with dogs contrary to Section 64 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.
A 30-year-old male been charged with Hunting a Wild Mammal with Dogs contrary to Section 1 of the Hunting Act 2004, Trespass with intent to search for or to pursue hares with dogs contrary to Section 63 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022. Being Equipped for searching for or pursuing hares with dogs contrary to Section 64 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.
A 41-year-old male has been charged with Hunting a Wild Mammal with Dogs contrary to Section 1 of the Hunting Act 2004, Trespass with intent to search for or to pursue hares with dogs contrary to Section 63 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022. Being Equipped for searching for or pursuing hares with dogs contrary to Section 64 of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.
All four males have been bailed to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court on 30th December 2025.
