Fires Within Your Area

Hi Resident

We have been made aware of fires that have been started within the closes of your community and in the woods across Scotter Road. At this time we are asking if anyone from the community has seen these youths who may have started these fires to report your sightings to us. We would like to speak to you to understand what you know.

We have conducted foot patrols in your community and we have seen a number of black bin liners placed outside waiting for these to be collected. In doing so this is what the youths have started on fire which will cause damage to the properties near by. Can we request while we have high temperatures, that you only put out your bin liners on the morning of collection. This will reduce the opportunities' the youths have in wanting to start a fire.

With regards to the woods across from Scotter Road, if you see a fire please call the fire department but if you see any youths coming from that area please get a photo if possible of them and call 101 to report this us. If you do not wish to speak to the police you can call crime stoppers on 0800 555 111.

We are working with Ongo, Safer Neighborhoods and the Fire Department to gather all evidence we can to prove which person (we think it is a youth, so under 18) and to help reduce the chances of something being set on fire within your community.

It would be great if you could spend five minutes to complete our survey -
