Dogs in cars

There have been recent calls to us regarding dogs being left in cars during this hot weather. People are generally aware of this and take precautions but there have been incidents were the person has been longer than expected, which can have a dramatic impact on their pets. If possible refrain from taking the dogs with you, but if this is not possible please look for a shaded area and have windows down for air to circulate. Also carry a bottle of water so they can have a drink when you come back. Please make visits as quick as possible. If we attend and a dog is in distress or appears to be suffering heatstroke in a car, we are likely to smash the window to save a life, which will be justified.
