Property such as power tools or electrical items are unfortunately often targeted during burglaries or when vans are broken into.

Whilst Humberside Police make every effort to return stolen property that is found during stop searches, vehicle stops or search warrants, we cannot always do so, as we are unable to link property to the rightful owner.

Immobilise.com allows you to set up a free account where details of your property can be added, this can include serial numbers, model numbers and photographs.

This information can then be passed to the Police if any of the recorded property is unfortunately stolen.

Property marking also allows stolen property to be linked to the owner. Most property marking kits now have an individual ID built into them, so when swabbed, a search can be conducted to identify the owner.

There are several companies that provide Police approved property marking kits, these can be found using this link, then selecting Property and Asset Marking under the Product Category search option.

Utilising these products will increase the chance of your property being returned to you, as well building evidence to link offenders to the initial theft or handling stolen goods, thus assisting in their prosecution.
