Did you know Humberside Police run a Ride Along scheme?
Our Ride Along scheme enables you to experience first-hand what your local officers are dealing with on a daily basis. You may be interested in finding out what happens when officers respond to calls or how they proactively patrol areas on the beat. This scheme enables you to join officers and staff and observe their work.
ApplicationsApplicants will be contacted by a member of staff from one of our teams who will arrange the Ride Along directly with you. Due to demand, we can only accept one Ride Along Application per person within any 12-month period, and it can take up to three months from application to your Ride Along taking place although we aim to provide an opportunity much sooner. Terms and conditionsTo participate in the scheme you must: be a resident in the Humberside Police area be aged 18 years or above. You'll be asked to provide valid photographic evidence of your date of birth prior to your Ride Along undergo criminal record checks. If you have previous convictions, your involvement on the scheme will be considered on a case-by-case basis complete the Ride Along scheme application form. confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to our Ride Along confidentiality and disclaimer agreement. confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to our Ride Along observer briefing Please note: We do not offer the Ride Along Scheme to anyone under the age of 18. However, if you are interested in police work, you can apply to become a police cadet. We reserve the right to refuse participation in this scheme and to terminate the ride along at any point if it is necessary for the officer or member of staff to carry out their work effectively, efficiently, and safely.
