Nuisance Motorcycle Seized - Freshney Green

Dear Resident

Yesterday afternoon whilst a local officer was conducting patrols on Freshney Green, a juvenile male was seen riding an off road pit-bike doing circuits around Larch Crescent on Freshney Green. He was not wearing a helmet and putting himself, other road users and pedestrians in potential danger. He was then stopped moments later by the officer and the bike was seized under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act for no insurance.

The bike was not road legal, had no tax and no insurance along with being in a poor state of repair. The rider was dealt with at the roadside and will also be receiving intervention & education around road safety from Safer Roads Humber and his parents have now been informed of the incident and the subsequent outcome.

Please report any future nuisance motorcycle issues by calling 101 and giving as much detail as you can about the bike, the rider and where it is being stored. This is all part of Humberside Police's “Op Yellowfin” campaign to deal positively with illegal and anti-social use of motorcycles.

Regards
