Op Shield officers make arrests following seven warrants in Hull

Three people have been arrested after Op Shield officers conducted intelligence led warrants at multiple addresses in Hull this week.

In a bid to tackle organised crime and as part of Operation Shield, patrol and Police Community Support Officers from our Hull Neighbourhood Policing Teams, Kinetic Organised Crime Group teams and Special Constabulary carried out six warrants on Orchard Park, and one on Peel Street in Hull.

After conducting searches of all seven properties, alongside those arrested, officers recovered an amount of suspected class C drugs, over £3000 of cash, mobile phones, and other devices.

The three people arrested in connection with the investigation include a 26-year-old woman, a 40-year-old woman, and a 35-year-old man, who have all be arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply, and importation of class C drugs.

Leading the activity throughout the week was Hull Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Andy Waller who said: “This is a great result which has caused disruption to organised crime groups in our force area, and I am pleased to say that once again we have been successful in intercepting organised crime on our streets.

“Whilst this is daily business for our teams, intensified periods of action such as this means we can muster our resources and showcase the work being done day in day out to make our communities safer and stronger.

“We know that drugs and the crimes associated with them can have a real impact on communities, and that is why tackling these types of offences remains a priority for us.

“I would also like to thank all those people who help us to take action by contacting us with information about drug dealing and drug related crime in their areas.

“It is because of the information provided by you that we are able to gather a significant amount of evidence to be able to conduct warrants like this, and ultimately hold those to account for bringing drugs and other criminality into our area.

“Nobody knows more about what is happening in a community than those who live and work there, and together we can continue to make the lives of criminals feel uncomfortable.

“If something doesn’t feel right in your area, please tell us. We would always encourage you to report any offences or provide information to us, no matter how small, so we can build the bigger picture and take the appropriate action like you’ve seen from us this week.”

If you have any concerns about drug dealing in your area, speak to your local officers, call into your nearest station, or call us on our non-emergency number 101.

You can also report information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
