Dear Resident,

With it being a new month, below is a brief update in relation to what we’ve done in October 2024.

You’ve told us about an issue in drug dealing and taking in the Rosmead Street/ Estcourt Street area. As a result of these 2 drug warrants were executed in the area and an operation including a drugs dog was carried out towards the end of the month as well where multiple people were stopped and searched after indications from the dog.

Additionally:

Concerns were raised regarding an address being used for drugs and the resident being taken advantage of in the New Bridge Road area. This male has been safeguarded and the suspect responsible for this has now been remanded into custody for unrelated offences.

Throughout October, 2 juveniles have been referred to the Youth Justice Service where they will be dealt with by their officers and educated on what they have done in as a way to attempt to prevent further offending and stop them from being criminalised at an early age.

Priorities this month:

We are currently looking at addressing a number of concerns reported by multiple neighbours down ELLERBY GROVE through partnership working with Hull City Council. 

Concerns have been raised regarding a vulnerable elderly male being cuckooed in the area. Due to this being an ongoing investigation that we intend to progress with shortly, information we are able to release around this is very limited. 

At the end of the month, in partnership with Hull City Council we will be attending addresses in the Rosmead Street and Estcourt Street areas as well as Portobello Street and streets off it to speak to residents and provide them with burglary prevention tools such as door and window alarms. These areas have been chosen as a result of research being done which shows that in the past year these areas are the ones that have been hit by burglaries more so than other areas within the Southcoates Ward.
