Officers are investigating reports of a number of thefts from motor vehicles in the North Lincolnshire area especially within Westcliff and Ridings. We are working hard to find those responsible and bring them to justice but would always remind people to follow some simple tips to help protect their vehicles:

🔒Lock your vehicle – even when filling up, parked on your drive, or if you are in close proximity to it 

🔑Keep the keys safe, out of view when at home, and away from your front door 

🔧Be aware of carjackers – just because you’re in the car it doesn’t mean that’s a deterrent to someone trying to steal it

🅿️Park responsibly by avoiding parking in dark and secluded areas 

🚚Watch for illegal tow trucks because thieves often attempt to lift vehicles from the street so if you see anyone acting suspiciously please report it immediately by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111

🚨Fit good in-car security locks to help prevent your vehicle being driven away even if a thief gains entry
