Water Safety

Summer may finally be here!

We want everyone to enjoy the outdoors while the opportunity presents, this includes our local beautiful water locations; Beverley Beck, Tickton Bridge and Eske Nature Reserve.

In order for everyone to remain safe in these areas it is important to remember to do this safely. It can be very tempting to cool off in the waters when the temperature rises, this can place you in hot water! These waters can have strong currents and underwater obstacles which can place you in danger. There are no lifeguards on watch so please take these dangers seriously! Each of these sites have warning signs up advising that swimming and diving is not allowed. Tickton Bridge and Beverley Beck are also subject to a Public Space Protection Order which prohibits specific acts, these are enforceable by way of a fine.

Should you encounter someone in danger in these waters, call 999 for help. There is life saving aids located at these locations with location codes to assist emergency services in locating you.
